Our clients Twickenham RFC trace their heritage in the sporting world back to 1867 when Wellesley House, a young men’s academy in Twickenham played against a team from Richmond.

The club moved to its present ground, Parkfields, in the early 1930s and now runs four teams, and thriving Colts, junior and mini sections. Having been promoted in each of the last two seasons, the team currently plays in London One South league.

THE INSTALL

Project Details

We have been trusted to secure the club since 2012, by installing an intruder alarm which we have been servicing every year since. Recently, they contacted us expressing a desire to improve their existing CCTV system that was installed a number of years ago by a different company.

We arranged for one of our surveyors to carry out a site survey to gather notes on the existing system, and create a plan for how we could improve on what they currently have and provide additional security in a couple of vulnerable spots. Our surveyor established that the system was an old style, analogue system that recorded in very low resolution and was struggling at night time.

As a company we always strive to provide the most effective solution, and in this case we recommended modernising the CCTV entirely by upgrading from their unreliable analogue solution to a modern Hikvision IP system. The aim of this upgrade was to provide high resolution imagery of the building, ensure the cameras were able to handle very low-light conditions, and to increase the coverage of the system through strategic camera placement and model selection.

Our engineers installed a number of Hikvision’s fantastic Darkfighter cameras around the perimeter of the site, which use their built-in technology to give a bright and detailed image even in low-light conditions, resulting in colourful recordings long after a conventional camera would have triggered into infrared (black and white) mode.

We will be providing regular maintenance of the system, which consists of technical support 24/7 throughout the year as well as an annual service inspection visit from one of our trained service engineers. We connected the CCTV system to the club’s broadband to allow the customer to view their cameras remotely, which also allows us to provide enhanced off-site support as we can now access the system’s diagnostics remotely and offer assistance instantly without the need for an engineer to attend site. Our customer was extremely pleased with the upgrade of their system as the increased peace of mind that is has given them.
